Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 15, 2026 · © 2026 Rain Technology Solutions, Inc.

This Privacy Policy describes how Rain Technology Solutions, Inc. (“Rain Technology Solutions,” “Rain Tech,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, stores, and protects information when you use our websites, mobile applications, software products, and related services, including HAIL and TAK Sync (collectively, the “Services”).

This Privacy Policy is intended to support transparency for users and to describe the data practices for our apps, including apps made available through the Google Play Store. It should be read together with any in-app notices, permission prompts, consent screens, product documentation, or customer agreements that apply to a specific deployment.

1. Our Commitment

Rain Technology Solutions is committed to collecting and processing personal information only as necessary to provide, maintain, secure, and improve our Services; support customer and user requests; comply with legal obligations; and communicate with users and customers about our products and services.

Where applicable, we process personal information in a lawful, fair, and transparent manner. We seek to collect only information that is adequate, relevant, and limited to what is necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. We maintain technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, misuse, or destruction.

Where legally required, we obtain user consent before collecting or processing certain categories of personal information, including precise location data, health or physiological data, or other sensitive information. Where required by law or platform policy, our apps may also provide prominent in-app disclosures before requesting access to sensitive permissions or data.

2. Services Covered by this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to Rain Technology Solutions websites, mobile applications, software products, and related services, including:

  • HAIL: Rain Technology Solutions’ platform supporting medical intelligence at the edge, including real-time team health status, digitized casualty care, and digitally-aided CASEVAC (DACASEVAC).
  • TAK Sync: Rain Technology Solutions’ application for connecting user-configured TAK environments and supporting situational awareness, geospatial coordination, and related data synchronization workflows.
  • Other Rain Technology Solutions websites, portals, applications, and services that link to or reference this Privacy Policy.

Some Services may be deployed in customer-controlled environments. In those deployments, the customer organization may determine how data is collected, used, retained, shared, or deleted. In such cases, Rain Technology Solutions may process information on behalf of the customer, subject to the applicable agreement with that customer.

3. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on the Services you use, the permissions you grant, the devices and systems you connect, and the configuration selected by you or your organization.

3.1 Information You Provide Directly

We may collect information that you or your organization provide to us, such as:

  • Name, email address, phone number, organization, job title, and contact details.
  • Account registration information, if account functionality is used.
  • Support requests, feedback, form submissions, and communications with us.
  • Customer, billing, contracting, or administrative information.
  • Configuration information, such as server addresses, TAK server settings, organization settings, operational preferences, or app settings.

3.2 App, Device, and Technical Information

When you use our apps or Services, we may collect technical information necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Services, such as:

  • Device type, operating system, app version, browser type, and device settings.
  • App configuration, connection status, synchronization status, and diagnostic information.
  • Crash logs, error reports, security logs, performance data, and usage events.
  • Network information, IP address, timestamps, and related metadata.
  • Bluetooth, wearable, sensor, or peripheral connection information, where applicable and enabled.

3.3 Location Data

Some Services, including TAK Sync and certain HAIL configurations, may collect precise or approximate location data to provide core functionality, including situational awareness, geospatial coordination, mapping, team monitoring, emergency response, mission support, operational tracking, and TAK-related synchronization.

Location data may be collected while the app is in use. In some configurations, and only where enabled by the user or organization and permitted by the operating system, location data may be collected in the background to support continuous operational awareness, safety monitoring, TAK synchronization, emergency response workflows, or similar core functionality.

For TAK Sync, location information is shared only through TAK servers or TAK-related endpoints that are explicitly defined and configured by the user or the user’s organization. Rain Technology Solutions does not transmit TAK Sync location data to Rain Technology Solutions servers unless the user or organization separately configures a Rain Technology Solutions-hosted service or otherwise directs such transmission. Users and organizations control which TAK servers or endpoints they connect to, and location data is not shared through TAK Sync without that configuration.

For HAIL, location data may be used to display personnel, patients, responders, participants, or other operational entities on maps, dashboards, alerts, reports, or related workflows. Depending on the deployment, location data may be shared with user-configured TAK servers, customer-controlled systems, customer-authorized endpoints, or Rain Technology Solutions-hosted services selected by the customer or user.

3.4 Health, Physiological, and Operational Data

HAIL may collect, process, display, transmit, or store health, physiological, safety, operational, or medical workflow information where enabled by the user or customer organization. This may include, depending on the deployment and connected devices:

  • Heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, temperature, oxygen saturation, activity, exertion, or other physiological readings.
  • Alerts, status indicators, triage categories, patient or participant status, care events, treatment records, timestamps, and related workflow information.
  • Data received from connected wearables, sensors, medical devices, mobile devices, TAK systems, or other customer-authorized equipment or systems.

HAIL uses this information to support core functionality, such as medical intelligence, operational awareness, safety monitoring, patient or participant tracking, treatment documentation, responder coordination, alerts, dashboards, reports, and data sharing with configured operational systems.

Rain Technology Solutions does not sell health, physiological, or medical workflow data. We do not use health, physiological, or medical workflow data for advertising. We share this data only as described in this Privacy Policy, as configured by the user or customer organization, as necessary to provide the Services, or as required by law.

3.5 Communications and Support Information

If you contact us for support, request information, respond to surveys, or communicate with us, we may collect the content of those communications and related metadata so that we can respond, troubleshoot issues, improve our Services, and maintain business records.

3.6 Website and Cookie Data

When you visit our website, we may collect information through cookies, pixels, analytics tools, and similar technologies. This may include browser type, pages visited, referring pages, approximate location based on IP address, device information, and interactions with website content.

More information about cookies is provided in Section 12.

4. How We Use Information

We use information for the following purposes:

  • To provide, operate, maintain, and secure the Services.
  • To enable core app functionality, including TAK synchronization, location sharing through configured TAK servers, mapping, dashboards, alerts, medical workflows, physiological monitoring, operational coordination, and related features.
  • To configure and connect apps to user-selected or organization-selected servers, devices, sensors, wearables, and systems.
  • To troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and improve the Services.
  • To provide customer support and respond to inquiries.
  • To communicate about products, services, updates, security notices, administrative matters, and customer relationships.
  • To comply with legal, regulatory, contractual, security, and compliance obligations.
  • To protect the rights, safety, security, and integrity of Rain Technology Solutions, our users, our customers, and the Services.
  • To develop and improve products, provided that sensitive user data is handled consistently with this Privacy Policy, applicable law, customer agreements, and user permissions.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties for their independent advertising purposes.

We may share information in the following circumstances:

5.1 User-Configured and Customer-Configured Sharing

Our Services may share information with systems, servers, endpoints, users, teams, or organizations configured by the user or customer organization. For example, TAK Sync shares location data through TAK servers configured by the user or organization. HAIL may share location, physiological, operational, or medical workflow data with configured TAK servers, dashboards, customer systems, emergency response systems, or other authorized endpoints.

5.2 Customer Organizations and Authorized Users

If you use the Services through an organization, information may be available to that organization and its authorized administrators, operators, medical personnel, responders, supervisors, or other authorized users according to the organization’s configuration and policies.

5.3 Service Providers

We may use vendors or service providers to support hosting, infrastructure, analytics, security, customer support, communications, payment processing, or other business operations. These providers are authorized to use information only as necessary to provide services to us and are subject to appropriate confidentiality, security, or contractual obligations.

5.4 Legal and Safety Reasons

We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, government request, legal process, or applicable regulation. We may also disclose information where we believe it is necessary to protect rights, safety, security, prevent fraud, investigate misuse, enforce agreements, or respond to emergencies.

5.5 Business Transfers

If Rain Technology Solutions is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate protections and applicable law.

6. Google Play Store and App Permissions

For apps distributed through the Google Play Store, Rain Technology Solutions provides information in the Google Play Data safety section and in this Privacy Policy about how the app collects, uses, shares, and protects user data. The information in the Google Play Data safety section should be consistent with the actual behavior of the app and with this Privacy Policy.

Depending on the app and configuration, our apps may request permissions such as:

  • Location permissions, including precise location and, where necessary for core functionality, background location.
  • Bluetooth, nearby device, sensor, or wearable-related permissions.
  • Network and internet access.
  • Notification permissions.
  • Camera, microphone, file, or storage permissions, if a particular feature requires them.
  • Health, fitness, or connected-device permissions, if supported by the app and enabled by the user or organization.

We request permissions only for app functionality that requires them. Users can manage permissions through their device settings. If permissions are disabled, some features may not function properly.

Where Google Play policy or applicable law requires prominent disclosure and consent, the app should provide a clear in-app explanation before requesting access to sensitive data or permissions, including the type of data accessed, how it is used, and whether it is shared.

7. Legal Bases for Processing, Where Applicable

Where privacy laws such as the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) or similar laws apply, we process personal information under one or more legal bases, including:

  • Performance of a contract or provision of the Services.
  • Legitimate interests, such as security, product operation, customer support, and service improvement.
  • Consent, where required for certain data types or processing activities.
  • Compliance with legal obligations.
  • Protection of vital interests, where applicable in emergency, safety, medical, or operational contexts.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Rain Technology Solutions retains user data only for as long as necessary to provide the Services, support the applicable deployment, comply with legal and contractual obligations, maintain security, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

For HAIL and TAK Sync, retention depends on how the app is deployed:

  • Local device data: Data stored locally on a user’s device remains on the device until the user deletes it, removes the app, clears app data, or the data is otherwise deleted through app functionality.
  • TAK server data: Location, operational, or other TAK-related data transmitted through TAK Sync is sent only to TAK servers configured by the user or the user’s organization. Rain Technology Solutions does not control the retention or deletion settings of user-configured or customer-controlled TAK servers unless Rain Technology Solutions separately operates that server under a written agreement.
  • Customer-controlled deployments: When HAIL or TAK Sync is used by an organization, that organization may control data retention and deletion settings. Users should contact their organization’s administrator for deletion requests involving organization-controlled systems.
  • Rain Technology Solutions-hosted systems: Where Rain Technology Solutions directly hosts or controls user data, we retain active account and service data for the duration of the user’s or customer’s use of the Services. After account closure, contract termination, or a verified deletion request, we delete or de-identify personal data within a reasonable period, unless retention is required for legal, security, contractual, backup, audit, dispute-resolution, or compliance purposes.

Users may request deletion of personal information or, where applicable, deletion of an app account by contacting info@raintechsolutions.com. The request should include the user’s name, contact information, the relevant app or service, and enough information for us to verify and process the request.

Deleting the app from a device may remove locally stored app data from that device, but it may not delete data that has already been transmitted to a configured TAK server, customer-controlled system, or Rain Technology Solutions-hosted system. To request deletion of data stored outside the device, users must contact Rain Technology Solutions or, for customer-controlled deployments, the applicable organization administrator.

We may retain limited information after a deletion request where necessary to comply with law, maintain security, prevent fraud or abuse, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or maintain required business records. Backup copies may persist for a limited period before being overwritten or deleted according to standard backup cycles.

9. Data Security

We use technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, misuse, or destruction. These safeguards may include access controls, encryption in transit, authentication controls, logging, monitoring, secure development practices, vulnerability management, and personnel or contractor confidentiality obligations.

No system is completely secure. Users and organizations are responsible for properly configuring their devices, servers, accounts, networks, credentials, TAK servers, and connected systems.

10. User Choices and Controls

Depending on the Service and deployment, users or organizations may be able to:

  • Configure which TAK servers, endpoints, devices, wearables, or systems the app connects to.
  • Enable or disable app permissions through device settings.
  • Enable or disable location sharing, background location, notifications, Bluetooth, or connected-device access where supported.
  • Request access, correction, deletion, or export of personal information.
  • Close or delete an account where account functionality is provided.

Disabling permissions or changing configuration may limit or prevent certain app features from working.

11. Access, Correction, Deletion, and Other Privacy Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Request deletion of personal information.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Request a copy of personal information in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  • File a complaint with a data protection authority.

To exercise privacy rights, contact us at info@raintechsolutions.com. If you use the Services through an organization, we may direct your request to that organization or coordinate with that organization, especially where the organization controls the relevant data.

If an app allows users to create an account, users may request account deletion by contacting info@raintechsolutions.com or by using any in-app or web-based account deletion process we make available. Some information may be retained where necessary for security, legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, customer records, or other legitimate purposes.

Our Services may connect to third-party services, customer-controlled systems, TAK servers, wearables, sensors, medical devices, cloud services, communication systems, or other endpoints selected or configured by the user or customer organization.

Rain Technology Solutions is not responsible for the privacy or security practices of third-party services, customer-controlled systems, or user-configured TAK servers that are not operated by Rain Technology Solutions. Users and organizations should review the privacy and security practices of those systems.
